Starting with a straight piece of wire (—) we bend it into a U shape. Next, we twist the ends back to make the omega (Ω). Then we pull the ends together so that they cross over to look like &. To finish, we carefully align each end to meet up forming a ‘lucky’ 8 (or ∞).
Because we love it, we do this ‘ad infinitum’, knowing that each i8pring stores the potential energy we’ve created, for you, forever. And how can we put this energy to good use? How can it be released?
Depending on the alloy, colours and springiness of each i8pring vary however there’s one thing they all have in common. They all work in the same way, with just one moving part. Squeeze to open, click to shut. With easily adjustable tension, they connect securely to (almost) anything. Variations include cat, fish, heart and box shapes, iconic pieces of Kiwi ingenuity, right there in the palm of your hand!
We see unlimited potential for i8prings, as iconic (mini) works of art which can be easily exchanged, like currency. Easily connected in what we like to call a ‘clutch’, there’s no need for a wallet or bank account, at least in your local artisan’s or food market.
What kind of future do you want? Our survival depends on us all figuring out ways to do more, with less. So, although the possibilities are unlimited, conveniently securing your keys on an i8pring, without breaking your fingernails, is not a bad place to start. Less is more!
